Chatsworth Ideas is an independent planning guide to a day, a weekend or a Christmas at Chatsworth House and the corner of the Peak District around it. It exists because the practical questions (what is on this week, where to park, which walk suits the weather, which pub to end in, how to get there from Leeds) are scattered across a dozen sites, and because the answers change.

Chatsworth Ideas is an independent guide and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to Chatsworth House Trust, Chatsworth Settlement Trustees or the Devonshire Group. Always check the official site before you travel.
Where the facts come from
- Official facts (prices, dates, rules) are taken from chatsworth.org. Every page that quotes one names the official page and the date it was checked.
- Place listings (1345 pubs, cafes, car parks, hotels and the rest across 30 villages and towns) come from OpenStreetMap, refreshed weekly. If a listing is wrong, the fix belongs on OpenStreetMap, where it helps everyone.
- Descriptions of villages and attractions are adapted from Wikipedia and link back to the article.
- Weather is a live Open-Meteo feed for the house; the climate table is three years of reanalysis data averaged by month.
- Drive times are computed on the open road network with OSRM.
- News is collected from public RSS feeds every three hours and links to the publisher.
What is automated
The what’s-on page, weather and news update themselves several times a day. Once a week a short briefing is drafted by a language model from that week’s forecast, event dates and headlines, and it is labelled as such wherever it appears; it is not allowed to use any fact not already on the page. Some programmatic pages carry a short model-written introduction built only from the listings below it, edited before publication. Everything else is written by a person.
